It’s been a story of success so far as hundreds of 16-year-olds get their GCSE results at schools across Redbridge this morning.

At The Palmer Catholic Academy, Aldborough Road South, Seven Kings, Pamela Gorska and James Durcan secured an impressive 19 A*s and two As between them.

They helped the academy notch up its best ever set of GCSE results.

And at Mayfield School, Pedley Road, Goodmayes, friends Hajera Begum and Bibire Baykeens also scooped an admirable collection of A*s between them.

Our reporters are out and about today speaking to students as many embark on the next phase of their education, while others eye up entering the workplace.

Check this website throughout the day for stories from students, and keep an eye on our Twitter feed @IlfordRecorder, and our Facebook page for updates.
