A new mum was given an unexpected present when her daughter, Ameera Nika, was born a month early on Christmas Day.

“It was amazing,” said Marina Mikhayletskaya about her baby’s arrival.

“She is my Christmas gift.

The 30-year-old, who lives in Shere Road, Gants Hill, welcomed little Ameera Nika at 1.32pm weighing 6lb in Queen’s Hospital, Romford.

Ms Mikhayletskaya thanked all the staff at the hospital for their help during her unexpected labour.

She added: “I am so excited to get such a beautiful gift from Santa – she is a surprise and she is my little princess.

“Ameera Nika is totally quiet and gives me no trouble at all.

“A lovely girl who is just sleeping and eating and looking around.”

Ameera Nika is Ms Mikhayletskaya’s first child.
