Families were spoilt for choice at the weekend as Redbridge’s run of summer festivals continued.

Performances from choirs and musicians, visits from firefighters and climbing walls were among the activities on offer across the two days.

Saturday saw the Friends of Elmhurst Gardens host Fun in the Park, at the gardens in Gordon Road, South Woodford.

Youngsters enjoyed face painting, a fancy dress competition and a “waggiest tail” contest for dogs, with other attractions including stalls, a barbecue and vintage vehicles on display.

The annual Our Community Festival returned to the Barley Lane Recreation Ground, in Barley Lane, Goodmayes, on Sunday.

It featured sports activities, arts and crafts and a range of performances.

Among the attendees were members of GRASS (Goodmayes Residents’ Association), who ran a raffle and assembled a marquee and toddlers’ play area.
