Families wrapped up warm on Friday night, braving the cold to officially kick off Redbridge’s Christmas festivities.

Residents gathered in Seven Kings for the return of its winter fayre, run by Redbridge Council and featuring a range of performances.

Pupils from South Park and Farnham Green primary schools gave beautiful renditions of classic Christmas carols and popular songs which saw many proud parents and teachers cheer alongside the crowd.

People then gathered by Seven Kings station to welcome the colourful cast of this year’s Kenneth More Theatre pantomime, Rapunzel, with the performers celebrating the lighting up of the Christmas tree.

Blue and white spiral lights were also switched on down High Road, as were multi-faith symbols representing Redbridge’s celebrated diversity.
