NEW signing Danny Gabriel helped Ilford to a 2-0 win over local rivals Redbridge at Cricklefield last night (Wednesday).
The Foxes dominated the first half and took the lead on the half hour mark.
The visitors failed to clear their lines following a cross from Bogdan Inu, allowing Sam Adejokun the time and space to fire home past the Motormen’s goalkeeper Lee Newcomb.
Redbridge had their chances after the break with Tom Stephen going close, but the home side sealed the win when Gabriel was fouled in the area by Nathan Fletcher, earning the defender his marching orders for a second bookable offence.
Gabriel picked himself up to take the penalty and planted a shot past Newcomb to give Ilford their third win in four games.
