Full council meeting: Redbridge Roundabout on the agenda after petition submitted
PUBLISHED: 09:00 18 September 2014
Redbridge Council will reconvene after a 63-day summer break tonight to discuss the congested Redbridge roundabout, the director of public health and managing director children’s trust and the introduction of local forums this Autumn.
Full council will initially debate the traffic entering and leaving the roundabout into Redbridge Lane East at Redbridge Town Hall, High Road, Ilford.
Two e-petitions, numbering more than 1,500 signatures, were submitted to the council in March, triggering a council debate.
Drivers are concerned it is taking around 45 minutes just to reach roundabout due to rush hour congestion.
The director of public health (DPH) in the borough is up for review along with the managing director Children’s Trust.
The council will assess whether the senior management structure meets the demands placed upon it.
A secondment arrangement with Waltham Forest Council to share the DPH is set to end soon.
By law, each local authority is to appoint a statutory chief officer responsible for borough’s public health functions.
