Two personal trainers have been given the green light to put on six introductory sessions to help the borough get fit and healthy.
Trainer Jeffrey Darko, 27, contacted Redbridge Council last month seeking permission to put on the free six hour-long classes in South Park .
The classes will also be attended by restaurant chain Gym’s Kitchen which will offer healthy eating advice.
Mr Darko said: “I am very happy that the changes I want to happen can now happen in Redbridge.”
Sabia Begum, 23, will help Mr Darko lead the sessions in South Park, South Park Road, in Ilford, starting on Sunday.
Gym’s Kitchen representatives will conclude each of the six sessions with 30 minutes of healthy eating advice.
“Diet is the main thing,” he added. “Especially with high cholesterol on the rise – you diet needs to be on point.”
Mr Darko said he had received around 100 calls from people interested in joining the sessions.
“People are loving the idea,” he added.
