Four youths arrested yesterday in Newbury Park were allegedly in the middle of burgling a man’s house.

A homeowner in Southdown Crescent returned to his property at around 3.30pm, having been out shopping, to find people inside.

The youths then allegedly fled, and a police helicopter was scrambled to try to find them.

Four people were arrested in nearby Aldborough Road North and taken into custody.

Police have been unable to confirm whether they remain in custody this afternoon.
