Former Mayor of London Ken Livingstone visited Redbridge on Saturday to campaign with Labour activists in Clayhall.

He joined them knocking on doors and talking to residents in the streets.

The party is hoping for success in the ward in the 2014 local elections.

Labour campaigner Mike Hedges said: “We are quick off the mark.

“We already have one councillor in Clayhall and it’s a target for us.”

Labour councillor Gurdial Bhamra was elected in 2010 and the other Clayhall representatives are Conservatives Cllr Alan Weinberg and Cllr Robert Cole.
