The former vice-chairman of Arsenal FC popped into a secondary school on Monday to talk to students about the importance of hard work and dedication.
David Dein, the man behind the appointment of Arsene Wenger, gave year 7 to year 13 students from Seven Kings High School, in Ley Street, an insight into the secrets of his, and The Gunners, success.
“He spoke about his role at Arsenal and what he did at the Premier League and how it changed and became a multi-billion industry,” said teacher Chris D’netto.
“He talked about all the things that were linking into the premiership and what it meant to succeed in it, things like how Henry and Bergkamp were always the last ones in training and how students can be successful if they follow that example.
“The students loved it, they were hanging on to his every word. He’s a really generous and nice guy.”
