Do you recognise any of these 10 litterbugs?

The hunt is on to track down to find fly-tippers caught on CCTV dumping their rubbish in Ilford and Seven Kings.

Redbridge Council has so far released eight video clips showing at least 10 people dumping mattresses and bin bags, among other items, in Haslemere Road, Eton Road, Staines Road and Twyford Road since August this year.

This footage is being posted to the council’s “Wall of Shame” web page and residents are being called on to help identify the culprits, so that they can be fined.

Council leader Cllr Jas Athwal said: “Fly-tipping is a criminal offence, and we will not tolerate it.

“It is damaging to the environment and blights neighbourhoods.

“The ‘Wall of Shame’ is our latest weapon in the fight against grime crime and takes our campaign online to help clean up the borough.

“We are adopting this hard-hitting approach because residents are telling they are tired of people irresponsibly dumping rubbish.

“Now you can help identify the culprits and make those who do it pay for it.”

In one clip, a mattress is casually dumped by a man as he walks passed a garage on Haslemere Road.

In another, a man wearing a bright red jacket sneakily discards an unwanted office chair.

A council spokeswoman said that more than 1,000 people have been handed £400 on-the-spot fines for fly-tipping so far.

She added that the borough has seen a 22pc reduction in fly-tipping in the 12 months to August 2018, compared with the previous year.

Cllr John Howard, cabinet member for civic pride, said: “We know that our fly-tipping fightback is beginning to work but these ‘Wall of Shame’ images show there are still plenty of selfish people who are willing to spoil our neighbourhoods.

“We are investing heavily to keep the borough clean and are now asking residents to play their part by naming and shaming the offenders.

“With your help we can catch them and ensure they face a hefty fine.

“Watch the video, report the culpprits and together we can stop it.”
