The Recorder challenge: How many capital cities can five-year-old ‘Atlas Boy’ name?

A five-year-old geography whiz known to his friends as ‘Atlas Boy’ claims to be able to recall the capitals of 163 countries within seconds.

The Recorder invited Akshansh Sharma, who goes to Newbury Park Primary school, to our offices to put his talent to test.

“He has visited 18 countries in Europe,” said his mother Priyanka Sharma, adding: “And he was always inquisitive and asking questions.

“Thats when we realised he has a lot of passion for learning the different captials of countries.”

Akshansh, who lives on Eastern Avenue, also claims to know the capitals of the 50 states of the United States, the 28 states of India among other impressive facts.

With the help of his mum he has even has even started his own YouTube called Kids Geography.
