A workout instructor raised £150 for charity with a Royal Wedding-themed exercise class.
Karen Smith, 55, of Fitgirlslip, led a Fitsteps dance session on Saturday, May 19 to raise funds for the Rose Walton Centre, Mill Grove, South Woodford, for children with cerebral palsy.
Twenty people showed up to Caterham High School, in Caterham Avenue, Clayhall, at 10am to gear up for wedding celebrations.
“They loved it,” Karen said. “They’ve been emailing me to say thank you.”
Class began with 45 minutes of dance, which included songs such as Dear Future Husband by Meghan Trainor, followed by a pre-wedding toast of Pimm’s and lemonade.
The room was decorated and there were even Harry and Meghan masks on the door.
Karen said her favourite part of the event was standing onstage and looking out at everyone wearing red, white and blue and waving Union Jack flags while they danced.
“It was quite a spectacle.”
