Firefighters at Hainault will be opening the station’s big red doors and welcoming visitors during the summer holidays.

An open day will take place at the station in New North Road on Tuesday, August 22nd, from midday to 5pm.

There will be plenty to keep younger guests busy including a small fun-fair, face-painting and an ice cream van.

A vintage fire engine will be attending which visitors will be able to have their picture taken with and firefighters will be on hand to talk about the day-to-day work they carry out.

Crews will be joined on the day by other organisations including St John Ambulance and Neighbourhood Watch.

Watch manager Chris Van Roten said: “Fire station open days are a fun family day out.

“You can meet your crew and have fun looking at all the equipment and sitting in the fire engines.

“There’s lots planned at Hainault on the 22nd – so come and join us and learn more about what we do.”
