A woman had to be rescued from her stairlift by firefighters yesterday evening after becoming stranded on the mobility aid.
Emergency crews from Hainault fire station were called to a house in Manford Way, Hainault, shortly after 5pm by the stairlift operating company.
The lady had raised the alarm through an emergency button on the chair.
The fire brigade arrived shortly after they received the call and freed the woman from the machine unscathed.
