Firefighters brought the water flow from a burst water main in Woodford Green under control this afternoon.
A crew from Woodford fire station, Snakes Lane, was called to the burst main in Alders Avenue at around 2pm.
The station’s water officer said water was diverted away from homes and gardens and into the main road by five firefighters.
The main has not yet been fixed.
