Police are appealing for witnesses after a a man was shot in the leg outside a party venue in Ilford on Sunday morning.

Around 6am on Sunday morning as revellers were leaving a 40th birthday party, a firearm was discharged and a 22-year-old man was shot in the leg outside the banqueting suite, in High Road, Ilford.

His injuries are not being treated as life threatening but are being treated as life changing.

Officers are interested in speaking to anyone in relation to the incident.

On February 5, a 22-year-old man was knifed outside the suite, in the midst of a brawl.

A gun was also fired in that incident and onlookers described the scene as a “war zone”, as up to 1,000 people were involved.

An officer is assuring attendees of the party - or anyone who knows anything about the incident - that they will be held in strictest confidence.
