Newly elected members of the Youth Parliament, Kisham Sharma, Malek Djitli and Ali Raja are looking forward to the challenges ahead.

Kishan Sharma - MYP for Redbridge

For the last few years I had been dreaming about becoming a Member of Youth Parliament, when my name was announced I was so overwhelmed with emotions and shocked for words.

I had always been passionate about making sure that all young people had the chance to gain work experience.

I also aim to raise awareness about sexual harassment and help young students like me cope with exam stress.

I can’t wait to see what the future holds for me and the youth of Redbridge.

Malek Djitli – MYP for Redbridge

I did not expect to win at all. But now that I have, I hope to make it a fun learning experience to take with me through life.

I look forward to collaborating with everyone I know and don’t know with the intention to make a change to the borough I live in (a good one mind you).

I just hope that everyone that voted for me will be pleased with the choices I make, as I am with their choice to vote for me.

The year to come will surely be interesting.

Ali Raja – Deputy MYP for Redbridge

I cannot stress how honoured I am to take on this role and be the voice of the youth of Redbridge.

I cannot thank everybody enough for granting me this absolutely amazing opportunity and providing me with a platform that will enable me to instigate positive change and address issues that the youth is constantly faced with.
