Television and radio presenter, Mark Wright, made a surprise visit to a Woodford Green children’s hospice on Thursday to meet with youngsters and staff.

Mark, who first found fame on ITV2’s The Only Way is Essex, visited Haven House, High Road, to find out more about the vital work that the charity does and to meet some of the life-limited children and families who use the service.

He attended a coffee morning where he chatted with mums as well as one of the hospice’s music therapy sessions.

Tracy Wotton, whose daughter Ashley uses the hospice, said: “It was lovely to meet Mark, I’m used to seeing him on TV and he was very nice in person and seemed genuinely interested in the work the hospice does.”

Mark, speaking about his visit, added: “Coming to visit Haven House was a humbling experience and has made me realise how important the hospice is to our local community. I really hope I can play my part in helping the charity going forward.”
