Little Heath farmers were shocked to discover one of their pigs had given birth to quintuplets.

The piglets were born on September 16 at Willow Farm, Billet Road, and were only discovered when the farmers went to feed the animals at dinner time.

None of the piglets have been named yet, but they are following in their father’s hoof steps as pure-breed sheep pigs.

Mangalitza sheep, more commonly known as sheep pigs, are a Hungarian breed which grow a thick, woolly coat that means they are often mistaken for sheep.

Willow Farm has litters all the time, but after this birth “that’ll do pig, that’ll do”.
