Members of the Caravan and Motorhome Club’s South Essex branch presented their donation to charity The Guide Dogs Training School Redbridge, in Manor Road, on Thursday, April 5.

The school trains on average 250 dogs a year to act as the eyes of the blind and partially sighted.

Chairwoman Sue Maran said: “A great afternoon was had at the presentation and we met many of the dogs and even experienced walking blindfolded led by a guide dog trainer and her guide dog.”

The club raised some of the money through a holding a charity Chinese Meal in Southend-on-Sea.

Former chairman Paul Maran and vice chairman Will Thursby raised the remainder with a sponsored walk around Chelmsford.

Founded in 1907, the Caravan and Motorhome Club has almost one million members across the United Kingdom and Ireland.
