Wildlife aplenty for kids during half-term at Valentines Mansion

PUBLISHED: 12:00 24 February 2013

Frolicking frogs, inspiring insects and beautiful butterflies were all learned about at a special wildlife day for children.

Valentines Mansion, Emerson Road, Ilford, played host to children from all over the borough to learn about creatures and plants.

Nature trails snaked their way around the gardens of the mansion, teaching children about the vital role wildlife plays for our environment.

Inside, children listened to animal stories and created animal masks.

They could also play in the mansion’s Victorian kitchen and dress up in the recently refurbished Regency parlour.

The activities were part of numerous events this week around Redbridge to keep children entertained during the half term holiday.
