Councillor calls for new Neighbourhood Watch teams to be set up across Redbridge

PUBLISHED: 11:30 03 February 2013

A councillor is calling on Redbridge residents to fight crime in their areas by starting Neighbourhood Watch teams.

The programme aims to decrease crime rates and help police to act faster and be more aware of local issues.

Cllr Ashok Kumar said: “This project would make a win-win situation for everyone to help with things such as house insurance.

“It wouldn’t be much work and I think this project will create good team work.”

The Neighbourhood Watch teams will report anything suspicious and aim to make areas a safer place for everyone.

Residents in the groups can stay anonymous and all work will be confidential.
