An elderly woman was found dead at her Woodford Green home on Saturday.
Firefighters discovered the 83-year-old after being called to a property in Rayleigh Road at about 6am to reports of a flooding.
A spokesman for the London Fire Brigade said: “She was not conscious or breathing and we believe she drowned in the bath.
“The incident is not being treated as suspicious.”
A spokesman for the London Ambulance Service said: “We sent one ambulance crew and a doctor but sadly one patient was dead at the scene.”
