An elderly man has died after a fire in his Woodford Green flat.
Crews from Woodford and Walthamstow fire stations were called to Mill Lane at just before 3.30pm yesterday.
The blaze, in the first floor flat of a five-storey block, was under control by 4.15pm.
But the man, understood to be the occupant of the home, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The case of the fire is being investigated.
