Eid Mubarak!

Ramadan has drawn to a close and Muslims across the borough have begun to celebrate Eid al-Fitr - the festival of breaking the fast.

Each year the exact date of Eid al-Fitr varies depending on the sighting of the crescent moon, which was due to fall on June 14 this year, meaning that celebrations begin today (June 15).

Here is a guide to some of the events taking place across the borough:

From henna tattoos to tasty treats, the Exchange shopping centre, in High Road, will be hosting activities from 10am to 4pm on today.

Shoppers will also receive an Eid gift in exchange for small donation to Redbridge Together – a campaign raising funds to end homelessness in the borough.

Those seeking a souk will be pleased to know Eid in the Park, run by Redbridge Islamic Centre and the Eman Channel, returns to Melbourne Field, in Valentines Park, Ilford, today (Friday June 15).

Fireworks and beach fun also await at Eid Fest 2018 taking place in Goodmayes Park, in Green Lane, today until June 17.
