Woodford Green pupils became CSI agents for the day when they took part in a special forensics workshop and asked to investigate a murder.
The sessions gave Year 8 pupils from Bancroft’s School, High Road, a chance to play detectives on Thursday and uncover the truth behind a mysterious shooting at a national park.
They were asked to examine the crime scene, analyse the evidence collected and interpret the test results.
And they could pretend they were in hit TV shows such as CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.At the end of the sessions, which were led by Alison Leck of Education Interactive, the identity of the murderer together with motive was revealed.
Head of junior science, Dr Gulam Ismail, said: “The sessions proved incredibly popular and tested the children’s powers of observation and logical thinking, as they developed and tested their own theories.
“For some the highlight of the session was the chance to climb into a real body bag or dress up in a boiler suit as worn by the forensic teams.”
