Following a project in which they learnt about war and conflict, from the First World War up to the present day, the pupils chose to host a bake sale on Tuesday in support of the charity.

Poetry, art work and research were just some of the ways in which the children learnt about Remembrance Day and the significance of it, before presentations were made in a special assembly.

Proud head teacher Debbie Webb said: “The children have really embraced the work they have done about Remembrance Day, It has helped them to appreciate the pain and suffering so many people have endured whilst defending their country.

“Many of the children know someone in their family who has been touched by war.”
