ARTISTIC pupils made a splash when they painted a wave mural during Arts Week.

Pupils at Clore Tikva School, in Fulwell Avenue, Ilford, painted the massive wave to represent the parting of the Red Sea, in keeping with the school’s Jewish ethos.

As part of Arts Week, students enjoyed dance, drama, music and stories with an international theme. Each year group at the school learned about a different country and its traditional arts and students were joined by artists, musicians and an actress.

The children got stuck into clay work and textiles, and their parents rolled up their sleeves and helped make “artefacts” they could take home. Years 4 and 6 treated parents to an African drumming concert.

Headteacher Lenna Rosenberg said: “It was a very busy and exciting week.

“The children really enjoyed it and so did the staff.”

The whole display will be on show on Monday.
