Schools in Redbridge have been given a boost after Ofsted inspections rated 91 per cent as good or outstanding.

Statistics published today (Thursday) revealed of the borough’s 77 schools, 26 had received the top ranking – outstanding – in recent inspections.

The quarterly figures also showed 44 had received good – an increase from the previous quarter which rated 23 at the top level and 43 as the second category.

And while seven schools were rated as requiring improvements, not a single one was found to be inadequate – the lowest rating.

Overall the figures, based on inspections carried out between September and December last year, showed the percentage of schools in the top two categories had risen from 86 to 91.
