Students enjoyed an interesting day when their school held a successful medical fair.
20 different healthcare professionals were welcomed to Oaks Park High School, Oaks Lane, Newbury Park, to speak to children from Year 9 to 13 about their work.
With a large number of pupils studying maths and science, the school wanted to show them the many different branches that there are to the medical profession.
Lynda Smith and Paula Sumray are the careers co-ordinators who organised the event.
“I think it was just wonderful for them to be able to talk on a one to one basis to a doctor or a surgeon”. said Paula.

The event was attended by an orthopaedic surgeon, midwife, dentist, optician and two former Oaks Park students who are now pharmacists.
