Youngsters getting their first taste of the spotlight thrilled hundreds of parents during their school’s annual drama showcase last week.

Highlands Primary School in Highlands Gardens, Ilford, held their annual drama production last week, bringing to life the classic tale of Peter Pan.

The entire production was choreographed and directed by the school’s head of drama, Harsheron Kaur.

She said: “The children showed professionalism and commitment beyond their years.

“The quality of acting and dancing was award-winning. It takes true talent to move an audience and my cast did just that. I am so proud of them.”

Over four days, the largest ever cast of any Highlands show – 85 children aged 5-11 – wowed hundreds of parents who flocked to the school to see the story brought to life in a series of sell-out shows.

Each night saw audiences go wild, jumping up and down in the aisles and singing along with the catchy numbers.
