Hours of rehearsals paid off at a Woodford Green school when young performers dazzled audiences with a series of invigorating dance moves.
Students at Bancroft’s School in High Road staged their senior production of the classic musical show Guys and Dolls between Wednesday and Saturday of last week.
The show, originally adapted from Damon Runyan’s short stories of life on Broadway, included routines from dancing girls at the Hot Box nightclub and a memorable rendition of Sit Down You’re Rockin’ the Boat by student Charlie Layburn.
Head of drama Sam Hawkins, who co-directed the production with Ellie Middleton, said: “We had some really positive feedback from parents and friends in the audience and it was great to see all the hard work of the pupils involved coming together to make such an entertaining evening.”
Caroline Foinette was the musical director and Year 11 pupil Charlotte Curness devised the choreography.
