Redbridge results: Bancroft’s headteacher hails ‘tremendous’ GCSE results

It was another spectacular year for Bancroft’s School, as 99 per cent of exams taken at the school were graded A*-B.

In an outstanding year of GCSE results for the school in High Road, Woodford Green, 58 per cent received the top grade of A*, with 21 pupils receiving a straight run of A*s. As well as this, 89pc of exams received either an A* or A grade and 99pc were graded A*, A or B.

Emily Lord, who gained an astonishing 10 A*s, said: “I really didn’t expect this. I’ve just got an A* in English and I am lost for words!”

Meanwhile, Josh Beardwell found himself jumping for joy after earning nine A*s and one A.

He said: “I had to double check the numbers just to be certain.”

Headteacher Simon Marshall praised his students for their remarkable achievements this year.

He said: “This is a tremendous set of results from a really hard-working year-group and provides an excellent platform for their sixth form studies.”
