Intrepid pupils braved wet and windy weather to collect their GCSE examination results from the school, in Park Avenue, this morning (August 23).

Ninety-seven percent of pupils passed five or more GCSEs grade 9 to 4 and the proportion of passes at grades 9 or 8 was 45.5pc.

Headteacher Mrs Androulla Nicholas said: “An integral part of the Park School ethos is to encourage our students to learn how to FAIL [First Attempt in Learning];

“This approach enables students to develop the skills and attitude to studying which gives them confidence and resilience, enabling them to realise their full potential.”

She added: “I am very proud of both the students and the dedicated team of staff who have supported them through their GCSE courses.”
