Two Gants Hill pupils have seen their flag designs displayed at the UEFA Women’s Champions League Final at Stamford Bridge, after being selected from thousands of other entrants.
Esha Prabhu, nine, and Ahmed Gilani, eight, from Gearies Junior School, Gantshill Crescent, entered the competition to design a flag to promote women in sport.
PE instructor, Riki Cross, said: “In an effort to maintain the feel good factor of last year’s Olympic success, we are trying to take every opportunity to be involved in sporting activities.
“We are immensely proud of Esha and Ahmed’s achievement to have their designs chosen out of 3,000 entries. To have their flags made and displayed for their visit to Stamford Bridge was a wonderful experience for the children.”
