A new Ilford school held its first ever summer fair on Saturday with Bollywood dancing, drummers and fun for all the family.
The mayor of Redbridge, Cllr Felicity Banks, officially opened the event at Isaac Newton Academy, in Cricklefield Place.
The school opened in September and currently has just 180 pupils but will expand to take 1,250 by 2018.
Pupils, parents, teachers and residents gathered at the fair to see dancing, drumming from the Dhol Academy and live music from school bands.
Students also set up their own stalls to raise money for the school and chosen charity Cancer Research.
Headteacher Rachel Macfarlane said around £2,000 was raised on the day.
She added: “We had fantastic weather and there was a lovely atmosphere. It was a great community event.
“It was a lovely opportunity for students, parents and families to come and enjoy themselves.”
She thanked the school’s fundraising committee for all their hard work for the fair.
