More than 250 pupils from five primary schools gathered to see author Mark Walden promote his latest book last week.
The author of a series of fictional novels for youngsters entitled H.I.V.E. – The Higher Institute of Villainous Education – paid a visit to Ilford County High School in Fremantle Road, Barkingside.
Mr Walden sold and signed copies of his newly released literary masterpiece, Deadlock, during his visit.
“His books are based are on the idea villains have more fun than heroes,” said Paula Saffer, the school’s learning resource centre manager. “He was very entertaining,” she added.
Mr Walden was joined by pupils from Mossford Green Primary School, Barkingside; Fairlop Primary School, Hainault; Ilford Jewish Primary School, Barkingside; Glade Primary School, Clayhall and Gilbert Colvin Primary School in Clayhall.
