”We are absolutely delighted for the students, staff and families. Improvement in results for the fifth year in succession is a fantastic achievement.”

For the fifth consecutive year, The Forest Academy sixth form students achieved their highest ever A level results.

Sixty two per cent of all grades were A*-B with a pass rate of 99pc, and the school also witnessed the highest ever number of students taking up places at elite Russell Group universities (one in three students).

Two students in particular were accepted into medical school.

The highest achiever was Mehdi Khan who got A*A*A* in Chemistry, Biology and Maths, and who will be studying Medicine at University College London.

Principal Will Thompson said: ”We are absolutely delighted for the students, staff and families. Improvement in results for the fifth year in succession is a fantastic achievement.”

Head of year Adam Shorey said: “We are so proud of our students and it is a credit to the teamwork across the sixth form.”

Director of Sixth Form Ed MacLeod added: “These results further demonstrate why all students should be very excited about our upcoming merger between our sixth form and Beal High School. BSF - the new Beal Sixth Form - will draw upon the many strengths of both schools and ensure and outstanding education for all.’
