A maths ace blitzed his exams, with an unprecedented perfect set of marks.
Not only did Rishi Bhabutta bag four straight A*s, but he achieved 100 per cent in all 12 of his further maths modules – a rare feat.
Naturally, the student of Bancroft’s School, High Road, Woodford Green, will be reading maths at Pembroke College, Cambridge.
He said: “I already knew that I had achieved 100 per cent in eight of my modules, but was thrilled this morning to discover that I had managed this across all papers.
“I had been less confident of getting A*s in chemistry and economics but am delighted that I managed a clean sweep.”
While students could get their results online early this morning, most decided to come into school to get their results.
But the electronic results system proved handy for a group of sixth formers currently performing with the Bancroft Players at the Edinburgh Fringe festival.
One in four of all A-level exams taken at Bancroft’s resulted in an A* – more than three times the national average.
Eighty-nine per cent of all A-level exams were awarded either an A*, A or B.
Head Mary Ireland said: “It seems to be the case that where a student has missed their offer grades, especially by just a few points, the universities have been happy to accept them.”
She added: “Our pupils are incredibly hard working and it is this fantastic work ethic which ensures they get to good universities and go on to achieve great degrees.”
