Two terrific top chefs visited a school to dish out inspiration as part of marking Black History Month.

Gary Lee, head chef at exclusive restaurant the Ivy, TV chef Ngozi Mbanu and Sean Mendez of Solidarity Sports, which produced Kids Cook the World, visited St Augustine’s Catholic Primary School in Cranbrook Road, Barkingside.

Black History Month is held annually and aims to promote culture and heritage.

Headteacher Delia Doyle said: “This term the children have enjoyed taking part in a wide range of activities to celebrate Black History Month.

“We were delighted to welcome Gary to talk about his life and journey towards achieving his dream.”

Mrs Mbanu, who is a trustee at the school, cooked an African dish for the nursery and infant pupils.
