Youngsters from Learn to Leap Nursery, in High Road, invited their families to a special, mini carnival, based on the one held in Notting Hill, on Friday.

They dressed up for the occasion and made giant flags for decoration, before taking part in limbo dancing and playing a number of themed games, including musical statues.

Day manager Rachel Kayler said: “It was an absolutely fantastic day and all the parents phoned to say we should hold the event every year. All the children loved getting messy and painting flags on themselves to celebrate the different cultures coming together in our community.

“Everyone took part in the fun games based around the theme of carnival, which are traditionally held around this time of the year.”
