Three Redbridge children’s centres are among a select number to be judged as ‘outstanding’ in the most recent OFSTED inspection.

The Redbridge West Group 2 – which includes Orchard and Ray Lodge children’s centre, and Oakdale Children’s Centre, were all graded as ‘outstanding’ after an inspection on 10 March.

The Orchard and Ray Lodge centre, on Liston Way, Woodford Green, and the Oakdale children’s centre, on Oakdale Road, South Woodford were praised for their “highly effective” leadership in ensuring good quality of care and practice as well as their joint partnerships with health and social care initiatives to reduce the economic inequalities for families in the borough.

Approximately 2,915 children aged under five live in the area served by the group of centres.

Cllr Elaine Norman, cabinet member for children and young people, visited the Orchard centre on Friday morning to congratulate staff on the results and their hard work.
