A decision on a proposed expansion of a Chadwell Heath primary school that will provide 210 additional places is expected to be made when the council’s regulatory committee meets next week.

The fate of the new two-storey teaching block and toilet extension at Grove Primary School, Chadwell Heath Lane, will be discussed at the meeting at Redbridge Town Hall, High Road, Ilford on Tuesday.

Additional facilities including nine new classrooms, 12 extra parking spaces and three toilets for both boys and girls, will allow an increase in pupils from 420 to 630, as well as increasing staff numbers from 61 to 75.

There are no proposed changes to access arrangements, which consist of two entrances from Chadwell Heath Lane for both pedestrian and vehicles.

Highways and cleansing officers declared the car parking provision as satisfactory, noting that one bay should be marked as disabled-only.
