Homebuyers are likely to pay a “significant premium” to live within 500 metres of a Central line station, according to figures released this week.
The Nationwide Building Society report suggests living close to a station adds £26,000 to a house price, compared with a similar property 1,500m from a station.
Those living close to Central line stations, including Gants Hill and Barkingside, still remain the cheapest compared to other lines, with an average price of £328,694.
Properties near to the Circle line are the most expensive in London.
