A Wanstead stylist who has been working on a look based on The Great Gatsby has won through to the final of a talent competition.

Tom Harrigan, 30, will take part in the Tribe Final being held in Brixton on September 10 by international styling company Redken.

He and colleague Emma Turner at Haringtons hair salon in Soho devised a look called “urban dandy” for the competition.

It incorporated “some of the Gatsby trends of the season”, with a big-screen adaptation of the 1925 F. Scott Fitzgerald book to be seen next year.

They styled a male model for a photo shoot and then recreated their look for a catwalk competition.
