Police are continuing in their search to track down the Chigwell shooter who fired a gun at a 36-year-old man on Sunday hitting his shoulder.

The victim from East London was discharged later in the evening from hospital after receiving treatment for a bullet wound.

Essex Police have completed forensic enquiries at Woolston Hall, Abridge Road, and the scene has now been reopened, but are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Detective Chief Inspector Stuart Smith said: “We have spoken with more than 40 people who were at Woolston Hall on Sunday afternoon and a number of them have already given us statements.

“But we believe there are others who were there who we would still like to speak to.

“The Hall would have been very busy and understandably some people would have wanted to leave very quickly given what happened.

“We would ask them to get in touch with us as they may have seen what happened or have other vital information of use.

One vehicle from the area has been taken away as part of the investigation.

More than 40 people who were at Woolston Hall on Sunday afternoon - many of whom were kept inside the surrounding buildings for more than five hours - were questioned by police.

According to one witness, “four cars at a time” were searched by police and then allowed to leave the scene.

Det Chf Insp Smith added police were also examining footage from a number of CCTV cameras in the area of the Hall to help piece together what happened on Sunday.

If you were at Woolston Hall and have not yet spoken to Essex Police please call Loughton CID on 101 or ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
