Two men appeared in court yesterday (Tuesday) after allegedly attempting to rob a cash transit van at Waitrose in South Woodford.
Police were called to the shop in High Road and arrested two men at 7.48am on Monday.
Police said no weapons were found and nothing was believed to have been taken from the van.
Saqib Waheed, 27, of East Ham, and Darrian Davis, 34, of no fixed abode, appeared at Redbridge Magistrates’ Court charged with attempted robbery.
The men have been remanded in custody and are due to appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court in September.
