Two men have been arrested after an alleged assault on a 17-year-old man who had a bottle smashed across his head at Ilford train station on Monday night.

The victim was later taken to an east London hospital where he was treated for a facial injury.

A fight broke out between a group of young men in front of the Cranbrook Road entrance to the station around 6pm as people made their way home.

Police were called to the scene soon after.

The two men - aged 17 and 20 - have been bailed until May pending further police enquiries.
