One of the borough’s secondary schools has been awarded for its hard work in promoting inclusion and mutual understanding, particularly on religious grounds.

Little Heath School, Hainault Road, Little Heath, has been named as the winner of the annual Accord Inclusivity Award, which is open to all schools in England and Wales.

The school won praise from the judges for its innovative approach to religious education, which since its nomination for the award, has been highlighted by Ofsted as an example for special schools to follow.

Anne Krisman, who leads religious education at the school, said: “RE taught creatively is an uplifting subject that develops values, transforms lives, and helps build a better world. This is reflected in our happy, inclusive, supportive school.”
